ASIAN RE SEMINAR ON REINSURANCE

          Asian Reinsurance Corporation, conducted a seminar on “Principles and Practice of Reinsurance” in  Bangkok  attended by 25 participants from 10 countries of Asia from 26 to 30 September 2011.  This seminar has been organized as part of  its developmental activities.

          Asian Re is an intergovernmental organization, set up under the auspices of the UN/ESCAP to promote cooperation in the field of reinsurance. With private participation in equity, it is emerging as a public-private partnership  in  reinsurance  in  Asia-Pacific region.

            The Seminar participants presented reports on their respective country detailing the regulatory environment,insurance and reinsurance practices and market statistics .

          The Seminar provided the participants with inputs on principles of reinsurance, its application and practices, reinsurance programming , accounts administration and current  reinsurance  market  conditions.

            This annual Seminar organized by  Asian Re, according to those who attended the seminar, is a much-sought after event for reinsurance  professionals of the region.
